About the Committee
The SC/ST Atrocity Committee has been constituted in the Institute in accordance with statutory requirements to safeguard the interests of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students and employees. The Committee is committed to ensuring equal opportunities, social justice, educational advancement, and the effective implementation of welfare schemes provided by the Government. It also strives to create an inclusive, safe, and discrimination-free environment within the institution.
Objectives
- Ensure equal opportunity and social justice for SC/ST students and staff.
- Promote educational, economic, and social welfare of SC/ST communities.
- Provide guidance and support for scholarships, reservations, and other government welfare schemes.
- Promote an inclusive campus free from discrimination and atrocities.
Functions
- Maintain records of SC/ST students and employees.
- Monitor implementation of reservation policies in admissions and recruitment.
- Maintain reservation rosters for teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Supervise the distribution of scholarships and other welfare benefits.
- Address representations related to admissions, recruitment, promotions, and other grievances.
- Create awareness about government welfare schemes for SC/ST communities.
- Organize activities for the academic and overall development of SC/ST students.
- Maintain records of committee activities and submit reports to IQAC.
- Analyze admission and academic data relating to SC/ST students and submit reports to the concerned authorities whenever required.
- Assist SC/ST students and employees in resolving academic and administrative issues.
- Encourage higher education and career development among SC/ST students.
Roles & Responsibilities

- Provide academic support through remedial classes, mentoring, and counseling.
- Promote equality and social harmony among all stakeholders.
